Brachioplasty

Firm your arms with brachioplasty! Brachioplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper arms, where excess skin that has lost elasticity and excess fat are removed to achieve a more aesthetic and sculpted appearance.
An arm lift procedure will also allow you to attain a better balance between your arms and the rest of your body.
Brachioplasty is an excellent option for patients seeking to restore a more firm and toned shape to their arms.

What Does a Brachiplasty Involve?

A Brachioplasty can be done in a hospital or an outpatient surgical facility.

Arm lift incision techniques:

Full Upper Arm Lift: it entails an incision running from the armpit to the elbow along the underside of the arm.

Mini Arm Lift: it involves a similar incision but on a reduced scale than the full arm lift.

Arm Lift & Liposuction: This procedure helps to avoid long incisions, minimizing the final scar.

Arm lift surgery usually takes one to four hours.

The procedure is done with sedation and local or general anesthesia.
Your surgeon will make the incisions on the undersides of your arms, then tighten your underlying tissues and secure them with stitches. He or she might also use liposuction.

Your skin will be draped over the new contours and excess skin will be removed.

To close the incisions stitches or surgical tape will be used.

Post-operative compressive bandages will be applied to minimize swelling and small tubes might be placed in your arms to drain any excess fluids.
You may experience some post-surgical swelling and bruising, which can be ameliorated with prescription pain medication. You will likely also take antibiotics to decrease your risk of infection.

Risk

All medical and surgical procedures have inherent risks associated, although they are rare and unlikely, it is important that you understand potential complications that may arise. This understanding will allow you to assess the risk/benefit profile of your desired procedure.

Recovery

During the first post-operative week, it is recommended that patients perform their usual activities within the limitations of the given medical advice and tolerance to their comfort.

You should avoid lifting your arms above shoulder level for 3-4 weeks. Limit your physical activity for two to four weeks in order to allow your body sufficient time to recuperate.

You can expect to be able to see visible aesthetic results immediately following your procedure, these should continue to improve over the following weeks as the swelling decreases and the incisions heal.

Who is a Good Candidate for Arm Lift Surgery?

  • You are physically healthy
  • You have realistic expectations
  • You have moderate to severe skin elasticity problems due to the natural aging process
  • You wish to remove excess skin after weight loss
  • You don’t smoke
  • You wish to restore a more youthful appearance to your arms

Results

Arm lift results are typically long-lasting.

Your newly contoured, leaner, and sculptured upper arms will provide you with an aesthetic enhanced appearance that will heighten your body image and boost your self-esteem.
