Liposuction

Dream figure with Liposuction, sculpt your body and get rid of unwanted fat deposits.

A defined body is often seen as a symbol of beauty, with sculpted buttocks, toned thighs, and a firm abdomen being idealized traits. Genetics, lifestyle, exercise, and diet influence body appearance. Despite healthy habits, unwanted fat deposits may persist in certain areas.

How then to have a well-defined body?

What should a body be like to be attractive? Michelangelo is undoubtedly the artist who elevates the representation of the human body to the highest expression of the artistic form. He started from the principle that the figure at the bottom already existed inside the block of marble to be sculpted, it was only necessary to free it.

He frees the beauty that is already in you, giving a new contour to your body, through the elimination of unwanted fat.

What is Liposuction?

Liposuction, also known as Lipoaspiration or Liposculpture, removes excess fat from various body areas to enhance body contour. It’s not a solution for obesity but targets localized fat deposits. Liposuction uses different techniques like traditional, laser, or ultrasound (Vaser), especially beneficial for those with significant weight loss, as it aids skin retraction and minimizes tissue damage. The procedure targets specific areas like abdomen, arms, buttocks, and more.

Procedure

The procedure typically begins with the administration of a solution containing saline and medications to reduce bleeding in the treatment area.

Anesthesia options include local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, chosen based on patient preferences and the extent of fat removal. If awake during surgery, patients may feel movement from the cannula but no pain.

A small incision (or multiple incisions) is made in the treatment area for the insertion of a thin cannula connected to a motor. The cannula is moved back and forth to break up and remove excess fat cells, while the doctor monitors the amount of fat and liquid removed.

The surgery concludes with suturing of incisions and application of a compression dressing or elastic stockings.

Most Liposuction procedures are outpatient, but hospitalization for one or two nights may be necessary.

The duration of surgery varies based on the amount of fat to be removed, typically lasting from one to several hours.

Convalescence

After liposuction surgery, expect fatigue, especially with larger procedures. Rest for 1-7 days depending on treatment extent. Gradually resume walking to reduce swelling and prevent leg clots. Avoid prolonged standing.

Swelling and pain diminish within days. Leg or ankle liposuction may cause swelling for weeks. Take painkillers as needed. Minor bleeding or fluid leakage is normal.

We may prescribe antibiotics or thromboembolism prevention if necessary. Sutures removed in 5-10 days. Wear prescribed girdle or stockings.

Expect bruising and altered skin sensitivity. Return to work varies, typically 24-72 hours, but wait until bruises fade. Final results visible in weeks, swelling may take months to subside.

Possible Complications of Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction, like any surgery, can sometimes lead to serious complications, so it is good to rely on certified professionals with great experience in the sector, like us Elite plastic surgeons.

Among the complications related to the liposuction procedure, we remind you of hemorrhage, hematoma, seroma, infection, skin necrosis, persistent edema and thromboembolism.

Am I a candidate for Liposuction surgery?

If you want to eliminate the imperfections of your body due to the excess of localized adipose tissue, if you want to get a body with well-defined shapes and contours, improving the image of yourself and feeling at your best, Liposuction surgery could be the right solution for your case.

To undergo the Liposuction procedure you must be in good physical and mental health and have realistic expectations regarding the results because, although the results are extremely pleasant through the procedure, they cannot reach perfection. Your skin must be toned and you must not find yourself overweight.
